history

The first written message about Domassow came in a confirmation dated 1220 by King Ottokar I Přemysl about the demarcation between the Hradisko monastery and the property of his sister-in-law Hedwig in the contested forest between Lasseziany and the mountains, which turned out to be a forgery from the first half of 14 Century has proven. This supposedly laid down a border line along the Hranyczny ( Hraničný potok ) and Lodenicz brooks . The place was probably created during the colonization of the mountainous region by the Olomouc bishopric as a forest hoof village and was created by Slavic settlers. There is evidence of an inheritance court since 1427. During the disputes between the city of Olomouc and the Hradisko monastery in the middle of the 16th century , the Moravian governor Jan von Lomnice and Meziříčí, on the order of King Ladislaus Postumus , obliged the subjects to obey the abbot and to pay taxes in a settlement the city of Olomouc. From the land registers of the Hradisko Monastery, the names of the landowners show that the village was Germanized between 1606 and 1700. From 1604 the place was called Domašov , from 1661 as Domischau , from 1677 as Domeschau and 1771 as Domassowium . During the Thirty Years' War, the court of succession is said to have been burned down during the Danish invasion of 1627. The repopulation of the village, which had been deserted by the long war, was obviously carried out by German colonists. Later, Domeschau came to the estates of the Augustinian Canons in Sternberg, founded by Albrecht von Sternberg. The registers were kept in Sternberg since 1636 and in town from 1782. New troops passed through in 1758 during the Seven Years' War before the battle of Domstadtl . In 1766 the parish Domeschau was established. After the Augustinian monastery in Sternberg was abolished, the village was assigned to the religious fund in 1784 and later sold to Count Philipp Ludwig Saint-Genois d'Aneaucourt. Domeschau was a weaving village. Most of the residents earned an extra income from the poorly productive agriculture by weaving their homes. With the establishment of the first textile factories, some of them hired themselves out as wage laborers in Sternberg.

After the abolition of patrimonial made Dome show / Domašov u Šternberka 1850 a municipality in the district administration Sternberg . From 1884 the Czech name form Damašov was used for a while . After the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Lippein belonged to the Sudetenland province from October 29, 1918 and was assigned to Czechoslovakia in 1919 against the will of the German residents . The Czech name form Domašov u Šternberka was introduced in 1924. In 1930 the village had 504 inhabitants, in 1939 there were 540. After the Munich Agreement , Domeschau was added to the German Reich on October 8, 1938 and assigned to the district of Sternberg . On May 5, 1945, the Red Army took the place. After the end of World War II, the community came back to Czechoslovakia. Czech settlers came to the place and the German property was confiscated. Most of the German residents were expelled in 1946. In the course of the territorial reform of 1960, the Okres Šternberk was abolished and the municipality was assigned to the Okres Olomouc. In 1975 it was incorporated into Šternberk .
