history
Archaeological finds show that the area has been inhabited since the Neolithic Age . Remains of a pile dwelling settlement were found northwest of the village on the hill Hradisko.
Scriben was first mentioned in writing in 1174, when Vladike Sedleck , who had remained without male descendants, gave the village to the St. Wenceslas Church in Olomouc. The diocese of Olomouc probably sold the property again in the 13th century. In 1263 it belonged to Vladiken Donon de Skrbyn. In the 14th century Philipp de Chirbeyn owned most of the village with the fortress, the farm, 10 hubs of arable land, two taverns and two mills, and 21 subjects. In 1342 the place was as Chirbeyn , 1350 as Skyrbine and Skyrben , 1364 as Kyrbeyn , 1381 as Skyrwen , 1391 as Skrbeň , from 1409 as Kyrbyn or Krbyn , 1429 as Skrbyne , 1434 as Zkrbynie , in 1438 as Skrbeň , from 1521 as Khürwein and Kirbein , 1691 as Skrebeny , from 1771 as Kirwein or Kirweina and 1787 as Chirwein . In 1379 Margrave Jobst of Moravia bought the estate. The next owners were Lacek von Krawarn and then Aleš and Václav von Doloplazy. During the Hussite Wars , the property of the lords of Doloplazy who fought in the ranks of the rebels was plundered and devastated several times. They sold the estate with the fortress, the Vorwerkshof, the mill, the villages of Krbyn and Hynkov and the fishing rights in 1437 to Ondřej Znata of Ojnice. During the Bohemian-Hungarian War between 1481 and 1490, the city of Olomouc seized the property and led feuds with the Vladiken Peter von Horka. In 1531, Markéta von Ojnice bequeathed the estate to her grandson Jan von Hřiště , who from then on called himself Skrbeňský von Hřiště . His son Jaroslav Skrbeňský von Hřiště founded a brewery in Skrbeň in 1550 and had a hop garden and several ponds, including the Nadýmač brewery pond . Because of the brewery, there was a beer dispute in 1559 between the Olomouc Council, who saw their mileage rights violated, and Jaroslav Skrbeňský and his brothers Jan, Petr and Václav, in which the Skrbeňský brothers initially paid 1000 pounds of Czech groschen in 1563 City were convicted. A measurement of the route between the Littauer Tor and the brewery carried out in 1565 finally revealed that it was still outside the ban mile. In 1574 the Skrbeňský of Hřiště sold the estate including the brewery to Peter the Elder. Ä. Praschma von Bilkau , who sold the property to the city of Olomouc in 1579 for 21,000 guilders. During the Thirty Years War the village became deserted. In the hoof register of 1657 35 farmed properties are shown for Skrbeň, one third of the place was desolate. In 1668 the city of Olomouc added a distillery to the farm. The registers were kept in Náklo from 1626, from 1661 also in Křelov, from 1760 again in Náklo and from 1784 in Horka nad Moravou. The division of the village between several parishes was abolished in 1786 and the entire place parish to Křelov. From the beginning of the 19th century, the Křelov teacher gave lessons in a chaluppe. In 1837 the village consisted of 101 houses and had 650 inhabitants. Skrbeň always remained an Olomouc council village until the middle of the 19th century.
After the abolition of patrimonial formed Skrbene / Kirwein 1850 a municipality in the district administration Olomouc. The school moved into its own newly built building in 1854. In 1869 the chapel was elevated to a parish church and a rectory and cemetery were laid out. The brewery ceased operations in 1880. The railway from Olomouc to Kostelec na Hané started operating in 1883. In 1890 there were 994 people in Skrbeň. A new school building was inaugurated in 1893. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1899. From 1921 the municipality belonged to the Okres Olomouc-venkov and from 1949 to the Okres Olomouc-okolí. In 1961 Skrbeň became part of the Okres Olomouc. In 1980 it was incorporated into Horka nad Moravou. School classes in Skrbeň stopped in 1986. Since 1990 Skrbeň has formed its own municipality again. In September 1991 the school reopened. The owner of the 200 hectare estate is the city of Olomouc.
