history

According to various sources, at the time of Duke Břetislav I in 1045 there was a farm on Zlatá stružka, which is said to have belonged to a Ješek von Luběn. Between 1247 and 1253, Margrave Ottokar II Přemysl had the watercourse in the Blata swamp regulated. The city of Olomouc built a stone mill on the stream that was created in this way , which also served to protect the road from Olomouc to Prague and the ford through the Blata. After the mill later burned down, it was given the name Spálenec

The first documented news about Lubenicz comes from the year 1297. The village, consisting of a few wooden chalets , was apparently northeast of today's town on the Blata. In 1365 the village was called Lybnowicz , from 1377 as Libenicz and Lybenicz , from 1398 as Libenice and 1418 as Lybyenicz . Until the 16th century the village belonged to different vladiks . In 1504 the city of Olomouc bought Libenicz . At the beginning of the 17th century, Andrýsek, a citizen of Olomouc, bought four half-hats and three chaluppets from the city, which he donated for the maintenance of the Jesuit seminary. During the Thirty Years' War the Swedes fought an imperial army between Luběnice, Slatinice and Lutín in 1642. Today shrines are reminiscent of the mass graves on the battlefield. The registers have been kept in Těšetice since 1651. Other forms of name were Libonice (1562), Liběnice , Loběnice , Luběnice (1606), Lubincz (1609), Libnitz , Lubenitz , Lubnitz (from 1655), Lübenitz (1656), Lubienitz , Luběnitz (from 1720), Lubincz (1765) and Lubienitium (1771). The Jesuits held their share until the abolition of the order in 1773. In 1777 the entire place burned down. In 1778 Lubienitz had about 300 inhabitants and finally consisted of 39 buildings in addition to the Haarmühle ( Spálenec ). In 1835 the village had grown to 49 houses. The Spálenec mill was owned by the Olomouc Council until the 19th century. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village was always subject to the city of Olomouc.

After the abolition of patrimonial Luběnice / Lubienitz formed from 1850 a municipality in the district authority of Olomouc. The inhabitants of the village lived from agriculture. In 1868 16 houses and 13 barns burned down. In 1892 a volunteer fire brigade was formed . In 1900 Luběnice consisted of 75 houses, in 1921 there were 88. When the Blata was regulated in 1925, the Spálenec mill was demolished. In 1921 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Olomouc-venkov. The following year, Luběnice was electrified. In 1928 the road to Slatinice was built. During the German occupation , the place was given the German name Lubenitz . From 1949 the municipality belonged to the Okres Olomouc-okolí and since 1961 it belongs to the Okres Olomouc . In 1950 part of the village was channeled. A new inn was built in 1970 and the cultural center was inaugurated four years later. In 1976 Luběnice was incorporated into Lutín . In 1990 Luběnice broke away from Lutín and has since formed its own municipality.
