The Blata ( German Blatta ) is a right tributary of the March in the Czech Republic.

geography

The Blata rises one and a half kilometers north of Vilémov in the Zábřežská vrchovina ( Hohenstädter Upland ) on the eastern slope of the Kamenice ( 523  m ). Prátná, Cakov and Senička lie on their way to the southeast . Thereafter, the flow enters the plains of Hanna and over Žižkov, Senice na Hané , Vojnice, Těšetice , Luběnice , Lutín , Olšany u Prostějova , Karlov, Hablov, Žerůvky, Bystročice , Dubany, Vrbátky , Štětovice, Svárov, Hrdibořice , Biskupice , He reaches Klopotovice , Viklice and Tovačov in Annín. Here the Blata is directed to the right around the pond area of ​​the Tovačovská jezera, which extends into the March at the mouth of the Splavská and Bečva . Past Cvrčov, the Blata flows 45.31 km east of Lobodice and Chrbov into the March. Its catchment area is 313.08 km².

Between Svárov and Hrdibořice, to the right of the Blata, lies the Hrdibořické rybníky nature reserve - a swamp area with two ponds.

The largest body of water in the catchment area is the Skašovský rybník, which belongs to the Tovačovská jezera dredging lake area, with 119.04 ha. There are actually three quarry ponds, the jezero sever, Annínské jezero and Skašovské jezero jih.

The Marchau forests at the mouth of the Blata are protected as the Zástudánčí nature reserve.

Environmental disaster

On July 8, 2012, in the summer heat, the sealing of a slurry tank in Senička broke . As a result, 400,000 liters of liquid manure got into the river and poisoned it over a length of 15 kilometers.
