history

Archaeological finds show that the municipality has been settled since the Bronze Age . The first written mention of Kokor took place in 1279. The village was the ancestral seat of the Vladiken family of Kokor. From 1283 the place was named Cocor , from 1283 as Cokor , 1364 as Kokorn , 1368 as Kockor , 1394 as Kokarn , from 1437 as Cokory , 1464 as Kokory , 1642 as Cockern , 1675 as Cockory , from 1718 as Kokor and from 1771 as Called cocorium . The first mention of a church in Kokor took place in 1371, when Zbyněk von Kokor received church patronage . Owners were the lords of Kokor, later the von Ludanitz family. During the time of the Lords of Ludanitz, Emperor Ferdinand I raised Kokor to the market in 1535. The registers were kept in Přerov from 1629 and in Kokor from 1700. After the Thirty Years' War the Jesuit order received the property. Kokory experienced its baroque heyday under the Jesuits. After the abolition of the Jesuit order , Kokor fell to the study fund in 1773, from which the barons Eichhoff on Rokytnice bought the estate. Until the middle of the 19th century, Kokory was always subject to the Rokytnice estate.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kokory / Kokor formed a community in the district authority of Kremsier . In 1855 the community was assigned to the Prerau district and again in 1868 to the Kremsier district. Since 1877 the village belongs to the Okres Přerov. In 1976 the municipalities of Nelešovice and Lhotka became part of the local national committee Kokory, and in 1990 they broke up.

Attractions

  • Baroque chapel of St. Franz Xaver, built in 1724 by the Jesuit order. The healing spring by the chapel has currently run dry.
  • Parish Church of the Assumption of Mary, the new building planned since 1810 was overshadowed by state bankruptcy and the Napoleonic Wars and was therefore made significantly smaller. The Jesus Christ bell dates from 1477, the baptismal font from 1771.
  • Baroque brewery, it was founded under the Jesuits and was expanded in 1890 by the baron von Eichhoff to include a malt house. In 1901 the brewing business was stopped. In 1916 the barons von Eichhoff sold the property to the tenant Ladislav Šilhavý from Přerov. During the Second World War the property was used as a depot for the Wehrmacht . The malt house was liquidated in 1947. Parts of the property were later used by the Přerov wholesaler as a fruit and vegetable store.
  • Former Dominican convent at the church, it now serves as a home for people with health problems
  • Statue of St. Florian
  • School, round cubist building from the beginning of the 20th century
