history

Archaeological finds prove an early settlement of the community area. The oldest of these are urn fields of the Lusatian and Silesian cultures from around 1500 BC. Chr.

The first written reports about the place indicate that there was a Vladikenhof in Osek from the 12th century . The first reliable mention of the church, the cemetery and the mill in Osek was based on the autograph by Jan Jiří Ignác Středovský in 1322. Wilhelm II of Pernstein , who had acquired the Helfenstein rule in 1474 , had a wooden weir built in the Betschwa create the Strhanec trench. In 1508 the place was referred to as Ossek , 1554 as Wosek , 1666 as Ossec , 1688 as Woseckha and 1771 as Osekh or Osseka . The Strhanec fed two mills and ponds, including the Podolší. Since 1622 there was a school in the village. During the Thirty Years' War, the Helfenstein rule fell to the Dietrichsteiners , who made Leipnik the seat of the rule. The registers have been kept since 1693. The settlement of Hliníky was merged with Osek in the first half of the 19th century. The Kaiser Ferdinands-Nordbahn started traffic between Prerau and Leipnik on August 15, 1842, but the trains rolled past Osek. Until the middle of the 19th century, Osek always remained subordinate to the Leipnik rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Osek / Ossek formed from 1850 a community in the district administration of Mährisch Weißkirchen . In 1855 the community was assigned to the Leipnik district, from 1868 it belonged to the Mährisch Weißkirchen district. Since 1924 the municipality has had the official name addition nad Bečvou . After the dissolution of the Okres Hranice, Osek nad Bečvou was added to the Okres Přerov in 1960. After long efforts, in 2002 the village got a train station on the Přerov-Hranice line. Ethnographically the village belongs to Hanna .
