history

The oldest written mention of the place can be found in two documents of the monastery Hradisko from the years 1282 and 1295. The owners of the property changed frequently. The first manor was probably laid out in the 14th century. The entire village was subservient to this. The oldest local seal dates from 1659; it shows a ploughshare and is inscribed Obecní peczet Zelatowic . Characteristic for Želatovice are the frequent changes of ownership of the property until the 18th century. Together with the Přerov estate, Anton Alexander von Magnis also bought the Želatovice estate and the associated share in Tučín in 1795 . After his death in 1817 his younger son Wilhelm inherited the lords of Želatovice, Přerov and Přestavlky . A village school was established in Želatovice in 1844, after which lessons had been held on the property since 1831.

After the abolition of patrimonial Želatovice formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration of Kremsier . Since 1880 Želatovice has belonged to the Prerau District . The development of Přerov into an industrial town at the beginning of the 20th century meant that numerous residents of Želatovice found their livelihood as wage laborers in the town. In 1917 Anton Franz von Magnis sold his goods Přerov and Želatovice including Tučín to the Moravian Agricultural Bank. In 1976 Tučín and Podolí were incorporated. After the Velvet Revolution , both villages separated again and formed their own communities. Želatovice consists of 199 houses. Ethnographically the village belongs to Hanna .
