Anton Franz Ferdinand Wilhelm Karl Graf von Magnis (born May 9, 1862 in Eckersdorf , Neurode district , province of Silesia , † October 17, 1944 in Strassnitz ) was a mine owner and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Anton Franz von Magnis came from the Moravian noble family Magnis . His parents were Wilhelm Ernst Adolf von Magnis (1828–1888) and Gabriela Deym von Střítež (1839–1920). After attending the Royal High School in Dresden-Neustadt , he studied at the Universities of Breslau , Leipzig and Berlin . He then devoted himself to the management of his own property in Eckersdorf / Silesia and Strassnitz / Moravia and the administration of his own industry (coal mining) in Neurode . He was also captain of the reserve and worked in the district and provincial administration. He was also a member of the Provincial Parliament in Silesia , the district assemblies of the Glatz , Habelschwerdt , Neurode districts and district deputy of the Glatz district. He was also a member of the Prussian mansion for life.

From 1898 to 1903 and from April 1915 to 1918 he was a member of the German Reichstag of the German Center Party for the constituency of Breslau 11 Reichenbach , Neurode .

Magnis was Knight of Honor of the sovereign Order of Malta , Knight of the Royal Bavarian Order of St. George , holder of the Grand Cross of the Papal Order of St. Gregory and the Order of the Red Eagle III. Class .
