history

The oldest written mention of the village took place in 1035 in connection with which the Gau castles Olomouc and Přerov connect Steig Hradská . Until the middle of the 14th century, Roketnyczie was the seat of the Vladiken from Rokytnice, the most important of which was the Supreme Judge from Olomouc, Hereš from Rokytnice. In 1348 Hermann von Rokytnice had Sezema von Prusinowitz registered as a co-owner of the estate in the country table . From 1353 the village was called Rokythnicz or Rokitnicz . A festival was first mentioned in 1385 when Rudolf von Frankstadt bought the village and the festival. After numerous changes of ownership, the lords of Ludanitz acquired the rule in 1437, which they held for 137 years, and thus the longest, until the end of their sex. Instead of the festivals that went out during the Hussite Wars , they had a renaissance castle built. Since 1481 the place was called Rokytnice , since 1573 as Roketnice , since 1575 as Roketnitz , 1675 as Roketnicz , 1771 as Roketnicium and 1828 as Rokstan . Půta von Ludanitz († 1560) acquired the Helfenstein rule in 1554 . With the death of his son Wenzel, the Ludanitz family died out in the male line in 1571. His five-year-old daughter Katharina von Ludanitz became the heir. In 1574 she signed Rokytnice to her guardian Zacharias von Neuhaus for a debt and brought Helfenstein into her marriage to Peter Wok von Rosenberg in 1580 . Zacharias von Neuhaus sold Rokytnice in 1577 to Joachim Haugwitz von Biskupitz , who chose Rokytnice as his seat. In 1582 a large fire destroyed the castle and the entire village. The new construction of the castle was completed in 1591. During the Thirty Years War the castle deteriorated and became uninhabitable. The von Haugwitz family therefore sold the estate to the Olomouc Jesuit order in 1663 . Four years later, he initiated the baroque renovation of the palace. The registers were kept in Přerov from 1629 and in Kokory from 1700. After the abolition of the Jesuit order , the rule fell to the study fund in 1773. From 1778 to 1790 the castle was used as a field hospital. In 1824 Ludwig von Lewenau bought the rule; He was followed in 1835 by the Vice President of the Vienna Court Chamber, Joseph Ritter von Eichhoff.

After the abolition of patrimonial Roketnice / Roketnitz formed a municipality in the Kremsier district authority from 1850 . In 1855 the community was assigned to the Prerau district and again in 1868 to the Kremsier district. Since 1877 the village belongs to the Okres Přerov. The current name Rokytnice was introduced in 1921. At the end of the World War on December 17, 1944, an American and a Canadian pilot were shot down during an aerial battle over Vrbovec. After the end of the war, Johann Eichhoff expropriated the large estates and deported Eichhoff to Austria. In 1991 an agricultural distillery started operations.
