history

Archaeological finds prove a settlement of the municipality area since the Paleolithic . The first written mention of the Hustopečsko was in 1201. From 1249, Vilém von Hustopeč is handed down as the owner. In 1349 Milota von Branitz left the Ustopecze estate to his brother Beneš, who a little later sold it to Jan and Drslav von Krawarn . In 1397 Hustopecze was called a town. Other forms of name were Hustopeče (1437), Hustopeč (1480), Hustopečky , Auspitz (1569), Huspitz (1575), Houstopeče (1621), Hustapeč (1627), Klein Auspitz , Hustopetsch (1675), Hustopečž (1690), Hustopetz ( 1716), Hustopecžium (1771). At the end of the 15th century, the lords of Zierotin acquired the rule. There has been evidence of a festival since 1569. Karl von Zierotin and his wife Johanna Černčický von Kácov had the fortress rebuilt into a castle between 1580 and 1604. Her son Viktorin allowed the settlement of Bohemian religious refugees , who established a brother school at the end of the 16th century. In 1617 Viktorin's youngest brother Wilhelm Friedrich inherited the rule. After his death in 1622 the property fell to his widow Anna Hoffmann von Grünbüchl . The first evidence of the Hustopetsch fishery comes from the year 1633. The Lords of Zierotin held the rule until the middle of the 17th century. The registers were kept from 1611 in Starý Jičín , from 1670 in Valašské Meziříčí and since 1683 in the village. In 1690 a school house was built. Between 1693 and 1763 Hustopeče belonged to the Podstatzky von Prusinowitz family . In 1717 the church burned down. In 1799 the barons of Baillou acquired the rule. The place had 773 inhabitants in 1853. In 1847 the place was called the Hustopetsch market . Until the middle of the 19th century, Hustopetsch always formed an independent allodial rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Hustopeč / Hustopetsch formed from 1850 a market town in the district administration of Mährisch Weißkirchen . Rail traffic began in 1884. In 1900 the Hustopeč market had 1,162 inhabitants, including 24 Germans. At that time there were six slipper factories and four inns in Hustopeč. Since 1909 the place bears the official name Hustopeče nad Bečvou / Hustopetsch an der Betschwa . In 1930 there were 34 businesses in the market, including a mill, a fulling machine and a steam saw. After the Second World War, the barons of Baillou were expropriated. After the Okres Hranice was abolished, Hustopeče nad Bečvou was assigned to the Okres Přerov in 1960. In 1976 the villages of Milotice nad Bečvou , Poruba, Špičky and Vysoká were affiliated to the Local National Committee (MNV) Hustopeče nad Bečvou. These villages and Hranické Loučky were completely incorporated in 1983. In 1980 there were 1217 people in Hustopeče nad Bečvou. In 1990 Milotice nad Bečvou and Špičky broke up again and formed their own communities. Since October 10, 2006 Hustopeče nad Bečvou has again the status of a Městys.
