After the devastation of the place in the Thirty Years War, it was repopulated by Germans. Subsequently, the Germanized place name Pohl arose . In the middle of the 19th century, the construction of the Kaiser-Ferdinands-Nordbahn began along the Luha . On the section from Prerau to Oderberg, traffic began on April 3, 1846.

After the abolition of patrimonial Pohl / Polom became an independent municipality in the district administration of Mährisch Weißkirchen in 1850. In 1930 the village had 717 inhabitants. As a result of the Munich Agreement , the majority of Germans settled Pohl was incorporated into the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Neu Titschein district until 1945 . After the expulsion of the Czech minority, the population fell to 637 in 1939. In 1945 the village returned to Czechoslovakia. It became part of the Okres Hranice again and the Germans were expelled. In the course of the territorial reform of 1960 and the dissolution of the Okres Hranice, the municipality was assigned to the Okres Přerov on January 1, 1961 . In 1976 it was incorporated into Bělotín . On January 1, 1992, the municipality of Polom came into being again.
