Dub (German Daub ) is a district of the Starý Jičín municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located ten kilometers west of Nový Jičín and belongs to the Okres Nový Jičín .

geography

Dub is located on the right side of the Luha on the slope of the Dubský Kopec hill ( Dauber Berg , 326 m nm) in the foothills of the Podbeskydská pahorkatina ( Vorbeskid hill country ) in the Kuhländchen . In the south rises the Stráž (364 m nm). To the west on the Luha are the ponds Heřmanický rybník, Dolní Polom and Horní Polom. The state road I / 48 runs between Bělotín and Nový Jičín to the west and south of the village . To the northwest, the Břeclav – Petrovice u Karviné railway line passes Dub.

Neighboring towns are Blahutovice and Polouvsí in the north, Hůrka and Vlčnov in the northeast, Starojická Lhota in the east, Janovice , Petřkovice and Palačov in the southeast, Poruba and Vysoká in the south, Heřmanice and Špičky in the southwest, Kunčice and Polom in the west and Lučice in the northwest.

history

Dub was first mentioned in a document in 1412, when the owner of the Titschein lordship , Latzek (I.) von Krawarn , sold the village together with Polouvsí to Heinrich von Riesenburg . He had his wife Elisabeth prescribe a morning gift of 50 marks for both villages . The following owners were Johann von Riesenburg and his daughter Katharina. After her death, the Polouvsí estate was transferred to the widower Johann von Zop in the land table in 1493 . In 1502 Wilhelm von Pernstein bought the estate and added it to his dominion in Weißkirch . In 1569 the village consisted of 15 residents. In the following centuries Daub always remained part of the rule of Hranice and Weißkirch, which has remained in the possession of the Princes of Dietrichstein without interruption since 1622 . The Poststraße led through the village to Neutitschein with a steep ascent over the Dauber Berg. In 1768, Emperor Joseph II stayed in the newly built inn. The local seal created in 1766 showed three birds standing in a field and three birds hovering over it.

In 1835 the village of Daub or Dub , located in the Prerau district , consisted of 26 houses in which 168 people lived. The main source of income was agriculture. In the village there was a retreat inn and a Erbrichterei . The parish was Hustopetsch , the school was in Halbendorf . Until the middle of the 19th century Daub remained subordinate to the Fideikommissherrschaft Weißkirch.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Daub / Dub 1849 a municipality in court Moravia Weisskirchen . From 1869 Daub belonged to the Mährisch Weißkirchen district . At that time the village had 180 inhabitants and consisted of 26 houses. In 1894 a primary school was established in Daub . In 1900 there were 202 people in Daub , in 1910 there were 199. In 1930 Daub consisted of 30 houses and had 234 inhabitants. After the Munich Agreement , the German-speaking village was separated from Okres Hranice in 1938 and added to the German Reich . At the same time the village was re-parried to Deutsch Jaßnik . In that year the municipality changed its coat of arms to the aurochs head of the Lords of Pernstein . In 1939 Daub had 189 inhabitants. Until 1945 Daub belonged to the Neu Titschein district . After the end of the Second World War, the village came back to Czechoslovakia and was reassigned to Okres Hranice, most of the German-speaking residents were expelled . In 1950 there were 160 people in Dub. In the course of the territorial reform of 1960 and the associated repeal of the Okres Hranice, the municipality was assigned to the Okres Nový Jičín . In 1976 it was incorporated into Heřmanice u Polomi . At the beginning of 1979 Dub was incorporated with Heřmanice u Polomi to Starý Jičín . In the 2001 census, 97 people lived in Dub's 38 houses. As of January 1, 2018, the village had 124 inhabitants and consisted of 46 houses.
