history
Wolfsdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1656 under the property of Alt Titschein Castle . The settlement probably existed earlier and was added to the town of Alt Titschein . At that time, the estate was owned by the barons Hofmann von Grünbüchel. They were followed from 1706 by the barons Zeno zum Danhaus and from 1772 by the imperial counts of Seilern and Aspang .
In 1835 Wolfsdorf or Wlčmow consisted of 43 houses in which 308 people lived. The parish was Alt Titschein. Until the middle of the 19th century, Wolfsdorf remained subject to the Alt Titschein rule.
After the abolition of patrimonial formed Vlčnov / Wolf village in 1849 a municipality in the judicial district Neutitschein . From 1869 Vlčnov belonged to the Neutitschein district. At that time the village had 353 inhabitants and consisted of 46 houses. In 1875 Karl Maximilian von Seilern and Aspang sold the Starý Jičín Castle for 2500 guilders to the Starý Jičín, Vlčnov, Jičina and Kojetín municipalities , who converted it into a school. In 1900 there were 431 people in Vlčnov, compared to 434 in 1910. In 1905, Friedrich Deym von Střítež acquired the Starý Jičín manor. In 1930 Vlčnov consisted of 68 houses and had 431 inhabitants. After the Munich Agreement , the Moravian-speaking village was added to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Neu Titschein district until 1945 . After the end of the Second World War, Vlčnov came back to Czechoslovakia. In 1949 Vlčnov was incorporated into Starý Jičín. Since then, the town has been steadily expanding through the construction of new single-family houses, as there is little building land available in Starý Jičín even due to the mountain. Since the 1990s, Vlčnov has been the most populous part of the municipality. In the 2001 census, 477 people lived in the 128 houses in Vlčnov. In 2016 the former tourist hostel was converted into a health center with 15 apartments for assisted living . As of January 1, 2018, the village had 712 inhabitants and consisted of 225 houses.
