history

Kojetin was first mentioned in a document in 1497, when Peter von St. Jörgen and Pößing sold the Titschein estate with all its accessories to Johann von Kunowitz. Subsequent owners of the rule were from 1500 the lords of Zierotin , after the battle of the White Mountain the barons Hofmann von Grünbüchel, from 1706 the barons Zeno zum Danhaus and from 1772 the imperial counts von Seilern and Aspang .

In 1835 the village Kojetein or Kojetin in the Prerau district consisted of 32 houses, in which 178 people lived. The main source of income was agriculture, especially cattle breeding. The Swinetz was often climbed by strangers because of its distant view, which far exceeded the Alt Titscheiner Burgberg. The parish was Alt Titschein . Until the middle of the 19th century, Kojetein remained subordinate to the Alt Titschein rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kojetín formed from 1849 a municipality in the judicial district of Neutitschein . From 1869 Kojetín belonged to the Neutitschein district. At that time the village had 213 inhabitants and consisted of 32 houses. In 1875 Karl Maximilian von Seilern and Aspang sold the Starý Jičín Castle for 2500 guilders to the Starý Jičín , Vlčnov , Jičina and Kojetín municipalities , who converted it into a school. In 1900 there were 206 people living in Kojetín, compared to 216 in 1910. In 1905 the village received its own school. In the same year, Friedrich Deym von Střítež acquired the Starý Jičín manor. In 1930 Kojetín consisted of 44 houses and 235 inhabitants. After the Munich Agreement , the purely Moravian-speaking village was initially added to the German Reich in 1938. In the course of further border regulations, Kojetein was spun off from the Neu Titschein district on November 24, 1938 and returned to Czechoslovakia . Until 1945 Kojetín was then assigned to the newly formed district Wallachisch Meseritsch and came back to Okres Nový Jičín after the end of the war. At the beginning of 1974 Kojetín was incorporated into Nový Jičín . At the 2001 census, 160 people lived in Kojetín's 57 houses.
