The Grasmanka , also Jičina (German Itschina ) is a left tributary of the Jičínka in the Czech Republic.
course
The Grasmanka springs west of Kojetín in the Podbeskydská pahorkatina ( Vorbeskidenhügelland ). Its source is in the ground between the Svinec ( Schwinz , 546 m nm) and the Požaha (518 m nm). The stream flows for its first two and a half kilometers - past Janovice - to the northwest and turns to the northeast in Jičina . The broad valley of the Grasmanka between Jičina and Žlabec is dominated in the north by Starojický kopec ( castle hill , 496 m nm) with the Starý Jičín castle ruins and south by Svinec ( Schwinz , 546 m nm).
The further course of the Grasmanka leads through largely flat and densely populated terrain. Initially, the village of Loučka stretches on both sides of the stream ; then the Grasmanka flows west of the city center through Nový Jičín . Here the Grasmanka was regulated, narrowed with stream walls and built over with the building of the school office. On the northern outskirts - between the train station and the bus station - the stream takes a northerly direction and flows to Šenov u Nového Jičína , where it is crossed by the Suchdol nad Odrou – Nový Jičín město railway line . After nine kilometers, the Grasmanka joins the Jičínka at the Silnice I / 48 / Silnice I / 57 intersection in Šenov .
Flood
A small reservoir was built near Žlabec in 1976.
The heavy rain on June 24, 2009 led to a flash flood of the Grasmanka, which caused severe damage, particularly in Loučka and Nový Jičín. Due to the backwater of the Jičínka, which is also extremely flooding, the Grasmanka in Nový Jičín u. a. the school office, the savings bank, the bus station and the train station.
Above Jičina, the construction of a dry retention basin with a 370 m long and 8.7 m high embankment is planned, which should have a capacity of 137,000 m³.
