The first written record comes from the year 1394. Over time the village was also called Lybntal , Ligutal , Liptain , Libomiersch , Lyptanie , Lybomyrz . A predominantly German population lived in Luboměř pod Strážnou. In 1775 the village had 52 houses and 334 inhabitants. According to a census of 1921, the place had 93 houses with 375 inhabitants (371 Germans, 3 Czechs and 1 foreigner), all of whom had the Catholic denomination.
After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Reich and until 1945 belonged to the district of Bärn .
After the Second World War, the German population was expelled in 1946. Until today the place has not reached its former population in 1989.
