The Dubanec (310 m) rises to the southeast and the Kleštěnec (287 m) to the south.

Neighboring towns are Vidláč and Lhota in the north, Radotín and Soběchleby in the Northeast, Dolní Nětčice and Horni Nětčice the east, Símře and Žákovice the southeast, Lhotsko, Blazice and Radkova Lhota in the south, Bezuchov the southwest, Šišma and Prusínky the west and Sušice , Kudlov and Kladníky in the northwest.

history

The place was first mentioned in writing in 1241. Zoprostowicz has been documented since 1368 as the seat of Vladiken Jezdon von Zoprostowicz. The place name is derived from Bohumil Zlámal from a Vladiken Oprosta. In 1397 Erhart von Zoprostowicz sold the fortress to Vítek von Roštění. Other forms of the name were Oprostovice (1415), Oprostowicze (1437), Opprostowitz (1675) and Oprostowitz (1771). Another owner was Jan Lapka, who sold the fortress to Peter von Lhotka in 1447. In the 16th century the village became part of the Dřevohostice estate . In 1617, Charles the Elder of Zerotein sold the estate with the associated villages Turovice , Nahošovice , Hradčany , Šišma , Pavlovice , Prusínky, Kladníky , Bezuchov , Oprostovice, Žákovice , Mrlínek , Sovadina, Lhota , Radkovy , Lipovilá and Křtomilá to Jan 95,000 Skrbenský from Hříště. Because of his participation in the class uprising in 1618, he lost his property after the battle of the White Mountain . The Dřevohostice estate was sold to Zdeněk Vojtěch Popel von Lobkowicz . Zdenek son Wenzel Eusebius of Lobkowicz sold the villages Šišma, Kladníky, Bezuchov, Oprostovice, Žákovice, Mrlínek, Sovadina, Radkova Lhota, Radkovy, Lipová and Křtomil to the owner of the rule in 1635 Bystřice pod Hostýnem , Johann Anton von Rottal . The registers have been kept in Soběchleby since 1718. The oldest town seal shows a crowd, rimmed by a heart, a crown and a orb and the inscription Pecet DIEDINI OPROSTOWIC . In 1847 a large fire destroyed 19 of the 31 wooden houses in the village. During the reconstruction of Oprostovice, the first brick chalets were built. Until the middle of the 19th century the village remained subservient to Bystřice.

After the abolition of patrimonial Oprostovice / Oprostowitz formed from 1850 a municipality in the district authority Holleschau . The volunteer fire brigade was formed in 1943. During the German occupation , the community was assigned to the Mährisch Weißkirchen district in 1942 , and after the end of World War II, Oprostovice returned to Okres Holešov in 1945. In 1949 the community was assigned to the Okres Přerov. In 1976 Oprostovice was affiliated to the Local National Committee Dřevohostice and in 1983 it was completely incorporated into Dřevohostice. Since 1990 Oprostovice has formed its own municipality again.
