geography
Jezernice is located on the right side of the Bečva at the foot of the Oder Mountains . The village stretches along the Jezernice brook in north-south direction. North of the village is the route of the D 1 / E 462 motorway from Lipník nad Bečvou to Bělotín , which is to be opened to traffic on this section in 2008.

history
The first written mention of the place comes from the year 1353. A church and a rectory were built in the first half of the 14th century. At the beginning of the Thirty Years War the parish became extinct and from 1622 Jezerník became a parish of Drahotuš . In 1785 a new church was built, which was elevated to a parish church in 1855. At the end of the 18th century, the family settlement Colonie Jesernik was established at the Jeserniker pond southeast of the village. The Jesernitz Viaduct was built between 1842 and 1847 as part of the construction of the Kaiser Ferdinand Northern Railway.
After the abolition of patrimonial Jezerník became an independent municipality in the district administration of Mährisch Weißkirchen in 1849. After the Jesernik pond was drained, the Jesernik colony was expanded in the second half of the 19th century and after the Zadní family / rear family settlement was established on the east bank, it was referred to as the Přední family / front family. Since the end of the 19th century, the place name Jezernice was used. In 1889 the old cemetery around the church was closed and the new cemetery on the road to Lipník nad Bečvou was consecrated.
In the course of the territorial reform of 1960 and the dissolution of the Okres Hranice, Jezernice was assigned to the Okres Přerov on January 1, 1961 . At the beginning of 1980 it was incorporated into Lipník nad Bečvou. The village and the Přední family formed the Lipník nad Bečvou VIII - Jezernice district . In a referendum, 80% of the residents of Jezernice decided to become self-employed, and the municipality was re-established in 1999.
In 2002 the renovation of the railway viaduct was completed.
