history

The first mention of the place took place in 1160 in church documents. The place named in it, where Hradčani live, raises questions about the origin of the name. These are interpreted on the one hand as the residence of the servants of the sovereign Přerov Castle and on the other hand as evidence of the earlier existence of a festival. In 1348 Beneš and Dobeš from Šišma were registered in the new Moravian land table as owners of Hradčany . In 1460 Wenceslaus Barský von Baští and Wschechowitz acquired the estate. The first written evidence of the Hradčany Fortress comes from 1523. In 1558, Burian Barský von Baští sold the Hradčany Manor to Wilhelm von Zierotin , who added it to his rule in Dřevohostice . In 1566 Friedrich d. J. von Zierotin transferred the entire rule to Hynek Pawlowsky von Widbach ( Pavlovský z Vidbachu ). He was followed by his son Johann and after his death the brothers Johann and Wilhelm Waneczky von Gemniczky ( Vanecký z Jemničky ). In the 1590s, Charles the Elder of Zerotein acquired the Dřevohostice estate. In 1617 he sold the manor with the associated villages Turovice , Nahošovice , Hradčany, Šišma , Pavlovice , Prusínky, Kladníky , Bezuchov , Oprostovice , Žákovice , Mrlínek , Sovadina, Lhota , Radkovy , Lipováštý and Křtomil from Hřbenskulden from Hřbenskulden from Hřbensí Góden to 95,000. Because of his participation in the class uprising of 1618 after the battle of the White Mountain, he lost his property. The Dřevohostice estate was sold to Zdeněk Vojtěch Popel von Lobkowicz . Zdenek son Wenzel Eusebius of Lobkowicz sold the villages Šišma, Kladníky, Bezuchov, Oprostovice, Žákovice, Mrlínek, Sovadina, Radkova Lhota, Radkovy, Lipová and Křtomil to the owner of the rule in 1635 Bystřice pod Hostýnem , Johann Anton von Rottal . He sold the remaining rule in 1646 to Maximilian von Waldstein , who in 1649 sold it on to the Passau court chancellor Johann Kaltschmidt von Eisenberg. In 1693 the Kaltschmidt family sold Dřevohostice to Friedrich von Oppersdorff , who had already become the owner of the Domaželice estate with the villages of Čechy , Pavlovice and 13 houses from Tučín the year before . He united both lordships into one lordship Dřevohostice-Domaželice. The Dřevohostice line of the Counts of Oppersdorff expired in 1798 in the male line. The inheritance fell jointly to the sisters Antonia von Oppersdorff and Josefine, married Matuschka von Topolczan . After Josefine died in 1799, her widower Heinrich Bernhard Matuschka and his sons Eduard, Albrecht and Hermann inherited their share. Heinrich Bernhard Matuschka outlived his three sons and finally married his sister-in-law Antonia, who died in 1815. On November 4, 1820, he became the sole owner of the estate, which he sold to Karl Anton Czeike von Badenfeld in 1839. Until the middle of the 19th century, Hradčany always remained submissive to Dřevohostice.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Hradšany / Hradschan 1850 a municipality in the district administration Holleschau . At that time the village consisted of 52 houses and had 321 inhabitants. In 1864 and 1877, Hradšany was hit by two major fires. After the death of her mother in 1876 Leonie Skrbenský von Hříště, née Czeike von Badenfeld, inherited the Domaželice and Dřevohostice estates. She sold them on October 6, 1897 for 225,000 guilders to the market town of Dřevohostice. The village has been called Hradčany since 1880 . In 1890 372 people lived in the community, in 1921 there were 374. In 1890 the school was inaugurated. The voluntary fire brigade was founded in 1913. Hradčany was connected to the electricity and telephone network in 1927. After the Okres Holešov was abolished, Hradčany was assigned to the Okres Přerov in 1960. The school closed in 1963. In 1974 it was incorporated into Pavlovice u Přerova . Since November 24, 1990, Hradčany has again formed its own municipality.
