John Eisele
John Eisele ( John Lincoln Eisele ; born January 18, 1884 in Newark , New Jersey , † March 30, 1933 ) was an American long-distance runner .
In the three-mile team race of the 1908 Olympic Games in London, he finished fourth. This made him the best-placed runner in the US team that won silver. In the obstacle course over 3200 m he won silver behind the two Britons Arthur Russell and Archie Robertson .
In 1908 he became the US road running champion over ten miles .
