Bradford Harris (born July 16, 1933 in St. Anthony , Idaho - † November 7, 2017 in Santa Monica , California ) was an American bodybuilder and actor .

Life

In the early 1950s, Harris studied at the UCLA Economics and played in college team football . However, he did not follow the family tradition and instead of banking he went to Hollywood , where he initially worked as a stuntman .

Career

At the end of the 1950s Harris came to Europe as a stunt coordinator and found employment there not only in this capacity and as a 2nd unit director, but also accepted the offer of a leading role in a Peplum film . Thanks to his good looks and impressive physique, he stayed in the film business in other genres as well, preferring action-heavy materials (initially e.g. agent films , later spaghetti westerns , and later he tried to initiate a renaissance of the sandal film). His most famous role is that of Captain Rowland in the series of Commissioner X films. On television he was featured in Derrick , Dallas and Falcon Crest episodes.

His filmography is pervaded by an impressive number of obscure films, many of which have also been produced in exotic film nations. In total he was seen in more than 70 film and television productions.

From 1967 he was married to the actress Olga Schoberová for a few years . From this marriage a child was born.

Having already owned his own production company (Three Star Pictures), Harris later served as chairman of Modern Body Design - A California Corporation .

A 142-minute documentary The X-Men Strike Back was created in 2012 for the publication of the Commissioner X films on DVD .
