Janne Furch

Janne Furch (also Jane Furch ; * May 6, 1915 in Kiel ; † March 28, 1992 in Feldafing ) was a German screenwriter , actress , writer and translator .

Life

After taking acting classes with Ernst Martens in Munich, the Kiel native began her career on Bavarian stages. From 1937 to 1938 she appeared at the Stadttheater Memmingen , after which she played at the Bayerische Landesbühne and at the Residenztheater in Munich.

During this time, she also got some roles in film comedies. However, the attractive blonde actress was unable to establish herself permanently. Since she only got very small roles after the war, she switched to writing screenplays , following the example of her husband Werner Eplinius .

Janne Furch wrote numerous scripts that were characteristic of the film world of the 1950s and 1960s. Mostly she delivered comedies , romance films and homeland films . The less successful contribution to the Edgar Wallace films , The Curse of the Yellow Snake , remained her only foray into the genre of crime films .

In addition, Janne Furch also wrote some plays and gave English and French-language works a German version. Most important was their German-language version of the musical The King and I .

Janne Furch also wrote popular texts, for example for Freddy Breck .
