The International Journal of Conflict and Violence (IJCV) is a semi-annual open access journal for scientific exchange and the public dissemination of new findings in conflict and violence research . The IJCV is thematically interdisciplinary . Accordingly, the IJCV sees itself as a forum for various research disciplines, for example from sociology , political science , educational science , social psychology , criminology , ethnology , history , political philosophy , urban research and religious studies . The IJCV is peer-reviewed and is evaluated by the renowned Social Sciences Citation Index by Thomson Reuters . It appears in the Journal Citation Report .

The magazine was launched in 1999 under the title Journal for Conflict and Violence Research . In 2007 Wilhelm Heitmeyer founded the IJCV as a follow-up publication . It is based at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence (IKG) at Bielefeld University. The journal is hosted at the Bielefeld University Library .
