Werner Eplinius
Werner Eplinius (born August 16, 1907 in Nowawes , † September 12, 1957 in Munich ) was a German screenwriter .
Eplinius worked as a journalist after studying law for several years. He specialized as a theater and film critic . In Neustrelitz and Potsdam he was also employed as a dramaturge and theater director .
From 1935 he wrote screenplays and was involved as a co-writer in various films, including the successful color film The Golden City . After the war, he continued his work mostly with his wife, the former actress Janne Furch . Almost all of the time, the couple wrote material for Heimatfilms . Eplinius died unexpectedly shortly after his 50th birthday.

- ↑ Maria Ilona was based on the novel Ilona Beck (1937) by Oswald Richter-Tersik. The film, produced by Terra Film , was on an Allied blacklist for performances after 1945. The book was reprinted in 1953.
