Carlo Delle Piane

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Carlo Delle Piane (born February 2, 1936 in Rome ; † August 23, 2019 there ) was an Italian actor .

Life

Delle Piane played his first film role at the age of twelve - he was a student of the Roman "San Pio XI" - for Duilio Coletti in his Cuore ; Vittorio De Sica , his film partner, discovered him and recommended him because of his striking appearance. In the following years, too, the deformed nose, a prominent chin and a high-pitched voice allowed Delle Piane to credibly portray people from the common people, but often also funny characters. Although he was valued by the public for many years, he was not to be found at the top of the cast lists.

With the acquaintance of Pupi Avati , who used him in almost all of his films, Delle Piane developed into a sought-after and award-winning actor. In 1997 he directed his only film, the Ti amo, Maria, which went largely unnoticed despite correct direction and very good acting performances .

Occasionally Delle Piane also played on stage, for example in the play "Rugantino" in December 1962. In 1983 (Pasinetti Prize for a school trip ) and 1986 ( Coppa Volpi for Christmas present ) he was awarded at the Venice Film Festival ; In 1984 he received the Nastro d'Argento from the Italian film critic for A School Trip .

After 2005 he largely retired as an actor; In November 2010 his play Io, Anna e Napoli , written and staged with Giuseppe Aquino , was premiered.
