Paul Bühlmann (born February 12, 1927 in Zurich ; † July 15, 2000 ) was a Swiss folk actor .

He grew up in the city of Zurich and lived there until his death. In the 1950s and 1960s he played in several radio performances of Hans Gmür musicals, for example in " Bibi Balù " and "Golden Girl" .

His big breakthrough came in the film "Police Officer Wäckerli in Danger" together with Jörg Schneider as the crook duo "Feusi and Vögeli" . But he also had great success in serious roles such as "The Frozen Heart" by Xavier Koller . He reached its climax in the title role of the dialect play "De Schacher Sepp" , which is based on the Bavarian " Brandner Kaspar " , which premiered in 1990 in the Bernhard Theater in Zurich . Paul Bühlmann's preferred roles were pranks and comedies. Together with Jörg Schneider and Ines Torelli , he set many pieces of the Punch and Judy Theater to music, which have now become Swiss classics of children's fairy tales. Bühlmann often lent his voice to respected professionals, but also to evil and dodgy characters with a creaky voice and inimitable charm. In the Swiss-German versions of Meister Eder and his Pumuckl , he plays the master carpenter Eder.

In his final years, Paul Bühlmann remained active on stage until he suffered from kidney disease, where he mainly performed with Jörg Schneider.

Paul Bühlmann was also a fan of the Zurich football club .
