Michael Braun (director)

Michael Braun (born September 5, 1930 in Rüdersdorf near Berlin ; † June 11, 2014 ) was a German director and screenwriter .

Life

At the age of around 30, Braun shot the TV series Funkstreife Isar 12 for Bavaria-Film . In the following years he became a television director who was often entrusted with the first episodes of new television series. He has directed many crime series and also shot family series such as Our Most Beautiful Years , Salto Mortale and Golden Times - Bitter Times .

Michael Braun's father was the director, film producer and screenwriter Harald Braun , who brought him to film in 1942 at the age of twelve with the title role of young Rudolf Diesel in Gerhard Lamprecht's inventor biography Diesel .

In 1980 Braun received an honorable mention when he was awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize .
