The crime story is a television series produced by ARD in 1970 (season 1) and 1973 (season 2) , which was broadcast for the first time in 1970 and 1973 and 1974 by Westdeutscher Rundfunk Köln in the evening program.

In season 1 of this crime series, only Inspector Parkinson investigates murder cases, solves break-ins and searches for missing people. In season 2, private detective Carlis is at his side.
background
The forerunner of the two seasons was the six-part series Detective Quarles from 1968, in which Eric Pohlmann determined under the name Quarles . The cases of Season 1 (original name Die Kriminalnovelle ) were based on literary sources by Cyril Hare . In season 2, the scripts came from different authors, including Julian Symons , the author of the previous series. Eric Pohlmann continued to play the role in the follow-up series, Mr. Carlis and his adventurous stories .
