Detective Quarles is a television series produced by ARD in 1968 , which was broadcast in 1968 and 1969 by Westdeutscher Rundfunk Köln in the evening program.

action

Detective Quarles investigates three completed episodes. In the first episode (one-part) he is asked to identify who was responsible for several poison attacks, the second episode (in two parts) describes a murder in the trotting scene and in the third episode (initially in four parts, later in three parts) Quarles clarifies the kidnapping of a tennis player Champions on.

Detective Quarles is the first in a series of related crime series on ARD. The literary templates came from Julian Symons . In 1970 the series was continued with a five-part season (original name Die Kriminalnovelle ), in 1973 there were a further 21 episodes under the title Die Kriminalerzählung . The protagonist no longer bears the name Quarles from season 2 , but is now called Carlis , the name of his police helper changes from Inspector Leeds to Inspector Parkinson . This was followed in 1977 by a thirteen-part series entitled Mr. Carlis and his Adventurous Stories .

Episodes

The episode The Secret of Center Court was first broadcast in 1969 in four 21-minute episodes. For a repeat broadcast ten years later, the format was changed to three episodes of 28 minutes each.
