Peter Böhlke (born August 3, 1926 in Danzig ) is a German actor .

Life

The son of a university professor grew up in Dresden . There he attended the acting school of the Academy for Music and Theater after graduating from high school. In 1948 he made his debut at the National Theater Weimar .

In 1948/49 in Weimar he played Damis in Tartuffe , Brackenburg in Egmont and Dervish in Nathan the Wise . In 1950 he played Pylades in Iphigenie auf Tauris at the Landestheater Dessau . From 1951 to 1953 Böhlke was engaged at the Dresden State Theater . From 1953 to 1956 he was part of the ensemble of Magdeburg's municipal theaters . Here he took on the title role in The Young Scholar and that of Goring in An Ideal Husband .

In 1956 he moved to the Federal Republic. From 1956 to 1961 he worked at the Ulm Theater. His roles included Leicester in Maria Stuart , Don Camillo in Paul Claudel's The Silk Shoe , Riccaut de la Marlinière in Minna von Barnhelm , Wehrhahn in Der Biberfurz and Lucio in Maß für Maß .

In 1961 he became a freelance actor and worked mainly on his new home in Munich . In 1961 he played Antonio in The Merchant of Venice at the Deutsches Theater in Munich . In 1966/67 he played Mayor Sulzmann in all nine episodes of the third Hesselbach season. From 1967 he was seen on the Kleine Komödie, mainly in tabloids . He played Robert in Terence Frisby's A Girl in the Soup , Jacques in The Much Beloved Herr Brotonneau by Robert de Flers and Armand de Caillavet, and Colonel Pickering in Pygmalion . At the same time, Böhlke began a long career as a film and television actor.
