Gernot Duda (born May 13, 1928 in Rutenau , Opole District , Upper Silesia , † December 18, 2004 in Munich ) was a German voice actor and theater and film actor .

Life

Before Gernot Duda took acting and singing lessons in Munich, he had studied theater studies and German. He received his first engagement from the Stadttheater Ingolstadt . Other theater roles followed before he was discovered for the cinema. But Duda became known for supporting roles in hundreds of television productions.

In the dubbing studio Gernot Duda spoke the German voices of Charles Bronson and Yul Brynner . He gave the character Faxe his voice in the cartoon series Wickie and the Strong Men , and in Disney's gummy bear gang he was heard as a rubber band . For the Simpsons he dubbed Barney Gumble , Horatio McCallister , Hans Maulwurf and in the first season Clancy Wiggum . For the James Bond film Live and Let Die, he dubbed the one-armed villain Tee Hee, played by Julius W. Harris . In the animated series Transformers G1 , he dubbed the voice of Megatron.

Gernot Duda, the father of Alexander Duda and Solveig Duda , died at the age of 76 and found his final resting place in the cemetery in Utting am Ammersee in Upper Bavaria .
