Arabian Nights is a television series of the ZDF , which aired from 1969 to 1970. The series tells adventures from an oriental world.

In the series Thousand and One Nights , the beautiful Scheherazade ( Vera Chekhova ) captivates the Sultan ( Siegfried Rauch ) with exciting adventure and love stories from an oriental world. The series was also known as the Arabian Nights - Oriental Picture Sheet . The episodes ran on Thursdays at 8.15 p.m., the last on Whit Monday in the afternoon.

The series was one of the most elaborate large-scale ZDF productions of the 1960s with 50 main actors, 18 ballet girls, numerous artists, 50 "real Arabs", 10 "harem guards" and 550 extras.
