Kurt Pratsch-Kaufmann (born September 1, 1906 in Dresden ; † June 24, 1988 in Munich ) was a German actor and voice actor .

Life

Through his mother's profession, a court ballet dancer, he had contact with the theater as a child. He began training as an actor in Dresden under Otto Bernstein and made his debut in 1927 at the Stadttheater in Landsberg an der Warthe . Often cast for comic roles, he played at the Hildesheim City Theater and at the Theater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, among others . He later achieved success in tabloid comedies and musicals in Berlin .

After the Second World War, Kurt Pratsch-Kaufmann also acted in several films and later in television productions. He played in the Heimatfilm Schwarzwaldmädel (1950), in Viktor und Viktoria (1957) under the director Karl Anton , as well as numerous other comedies of the German post-war film. Kurt Pratsch-Kaufmann was seen on television mainly in supporting roles in series such as Forellenhof and Der Kommissar . He also worked as a voice actor and presenter in radio broadcasts, where he also succeeded as a parodist of Zarah Leander .

In this capacity he also discussed the Odeon record O-26 961 in September 1950; on the one hand (mx. Be 14 054) he could be heard as Hans Moser and as Zarah Leander, on the other (mx. Be 14 053) in the sketch “Auf der Opernprobe”.

One of his star roles on stage was old garbage truck driver Doolittle in the musical My Fair Lady in 1961 . At the end of the 1960s he acted alongside Marika Rökk at the Theater des Westens in the musical Hello Dolly! and played the captain of Koepenick several times .

Pratsch-Kaufmann was married to her colleague Marianne Pohlenz . He was buried in the Ostfriedhof crematorium .
