Adieu, Lebewohl, Goodbye is a German Schlagerlustspiel from 1961 by Paul Martin with Bibi Johns , Senta Berger and Georg Thomalla in the leading roles.

action

The firm and resolute Tilli Adler heads a young artist group called “Kolibri” as the “mother of the company”, with whom she travels through the country from performance to performance. Next up is an engagement in Rome, which the lively band of singers is looking forward to. Since the famous Tiller Girls also perform at the same event, Tilli attaches great importance to rehearsals, rehearsals, rehearsals, which she begins with during the bus trip to the sunny south. While driving, they see a young man on the side of the road with a little boy at his side. You stop and ask if you can take them with you. The girls have no idea that this man is a clever sensational reporter named Ralph Martell, who hopes to be able to uncover a useful story here. The eight-year-old, fuzzy-headed boy, on the other hand, is called Carlo and is none other than the missing filius of a large toy manufacturer. While it is believed that the rascal was kidnapped, the rascal simply escaped from home because his busy parents Luciano and Eva Moretti, a well-known singer, have too little time for him. Because of him there will soon be a major police manhunt.

Carlos's destination is Naples, where his grandfather lives. Carlo Gualdi, his name, runs a small ice cream stand there. When Martell picked up the little one, he immediately sensed a usable story. But now there is one mix-up after the next, and little Carlo does everything to increase the chaos of the travel company from Germania. The usual happy ending means: Carlo returns to his parents after he has tracked down the grandfather, Martell gets his story and also gets to know the woman of his life, the perky brunette Gaby, a member of the “Kolibris” love. And in the end, Tilli Adler managed to survive with her troupe alongside the Tiller Girls and, as a result, land a new commitment. Between these storylines, lots of popular hits of the time are presented, above all the chart hit “Babysitter Boogie” by and with Ralph Bendix.

Reviews

"Schlagerparade according to the basic German recipe: take Italy, a young man, a whole bus full of cheeky girls and drive joking around through the melodic landscape. But one has learned something: to cook a useful action into the Pottpourri. Here a smart reporter, a runaway millionaire's boy and the police manhunt are nicely involved. Nice team: Michael Kramer and the little cheeky Marietto. "

- Hamburger Abendblatt dated September 23, 1961

In the lexicon of the international film it says: "The thin storyline struggles to hold the hit numbers for the sake of which the whole thing was done."
