Erwin Gitt

Erwin Paul Oskar Gitt (born February 17, 1910 in Berlin ; † August 12, 1975 in Grünwald ) was a German film production and line producer .

Gitt completed a commercial apprenticeship and attended the higher textile and advertising school in Berlin. He then worked as an export businessman, manager and production assistant on the Terra film .

After the end of the war, he worked in the German film industry as a production manager or executive producer from 1947 , initially for Heinz Rühmann's Comedia Film. Gitt, also called "Papa", was involved in several successful Rialto Film productions in the 1960s as production manager , in which novels by Edgar Wallace and Karl May were adapted.

After shooting the Ganghofer film adaptation of The Edelweiss King , Gitt died of a heart attack during his subsequent vacation. On the forest cemetery Grünwald near Munich, he was buried.
