action
Inge Siebel celebrates her music exam with Axel Peterson in the Boccaccio-Bar. She fell in love with the significantly older man and now even wants to get engaged to Dr. Felix Fichtner, who works in the steel works run by her father, solve the problem. In a high spirited party mood, she calls her stepmother Alexa and also lets Axel on the phone. Alexa recognizes Axel's voice immediately: you and Axel Peterson were once a well-known couple in the city. To this day, she still doesn't know why Axel Peterson split up with her in a rush. She then retired from town and later met her present husband. Today's general manager Siebel was still an accountant in the company. She had taken care of the then eight-year-old Inge and replaced her deceased mother, and in the background she had made sure that her husband got on professionally.
Inge now wants to talk to Axel Peterson and protect her stepdaughter, who shouldn't end up like her back then. The conversation she had with Peterson in the Boccaccio bar, however, took a surprising turn: Axel explained his situation at the time and that he only left her so as not to drag her into his bankruptcy . But he always loved only her. His words do not fail to have an effect on Alexa. She has to admit that she still loves Axel and wants to leave her husband for him. Axel separates from Inge and Alexa can hardly console her because of her own guilt. She speaks to her husband and admits her intentions to separate. The conversation with Siebel makes it clear to Alexa how much her husband loves her and how much he understands her. She decides to stay with him and Axel Peterson leaves town alone.

Reviews
“After ten years of absence, a speculator stumbles upon the stepdaughter of his former lover, whom he had left because of financial failure. He thinks he loves the medical student until his former lover teaches him better. Melodramatic love drama with attempted character representations. "
