Arne Flekstad

Arne-Reidar Flekstad (born August 5, 1917 in Narvik , † September 3, 1975 in Dürnbach near Gmund am Tegernsee ) was a Norwegian architect and film architect .

Life

Born in Northern Norway, Flekstad completed his architecture studies with a degree in engineering and initially worked in the field of structural engineering that is usual for this profession .

In the early post-war period he got to know the film architect Ernst H. Albrecht , known through his work at UFA , who brought Flekstad to his home. At Albrecht's side, Flekstad began to produce first set designs for Munich film companies from 1950, later the Norwegian , who lives near the Bavarian capital (in Gmund am Tegernsee ), also worked with other German colleagues such as Sepp Rothauer , Max Mellin and Bruno Monden .

From the beginning of the 1960s, Flekstad concentrated again on architectural work beyond the cinema and only returned sporadically to the film industry.
