Life

The brother of the Belgian Queen Fabiola , an "occasional actor with the charm of a noble bohemian of the world", came from the old Spanish nobility and was one of the most colorful personalities of the international jet set. Don Jaime, as he was briefly known in upper-class circles, had tried his hand at a wide variety of jobs: he worked as a taxi driver, bar pianist, bullfighter, show emcee and sales representative for pharmaceutical products.

At the beginning of the 1960s, Don Jaime - his trademarks: an impeccable, aristocratic appearance, an extravagant beard and a monocle in front of the right eye - received film offers for the first time from Germany and Italy . Afterwards he mainly appeared in front of the camera in his home country Spain. Always looking a bit dodgy, he mostly had to be content with short appearances. Only in the comedy ¡¡Arriba las mujeres !! Don Jaime got the lead role.

At the beginning of the 1970s, de Mora y Aragón also became a household name in Germany after he had performed amusing appearances on the ZDF game show Wünsch Dir was (1972) and in Rudi Carrell's On the Run (1974). Don Jaime was then persuaded to play a role in the Carrell comedy film Crazy , in which he played Carrell's Brazilian uncle. At the beginning of April 1974, ZDF broadcasted its own personality show with ' Cocktail Don Jaime' .

Don Jaime de Mora y Aragón spent the majority of each year, "mocked as the omnipresent Hans Dampf in every street, feared as a globetrotting boozer and perpetual bankrupt, valued as a bizarre entertainer with an undeniable talent for self-expression" in Marbella , where he is the in -Disco 'Kiss' led and cemented his reputation as the party king.

A week after his 70th birthday, Don Jaime collapsed at a party of a friend, the arms dealer Adnan Kashoggi , in Cannes after a heart attack and was taken to Marbella, where he died in the local hospital.
