Till, the boy next door is a television series that started on November 19, 1967 on ZDF . Till, the boy next door, was ZDF's first self-produced youth series and a great success with the audience, reaching a peak of 23.48 million viewers for the episode “The Breach of Trust” (first broadcast on December 17, 1967).

Because of this success, the management of ZDF's main editorial staff, Family and Youth, decided to produce a new youth series every year.

The thirteen-part black-and-white TV series tells the story of the Berlin boy Till Hauser, who moves with his parents to another Berlin district and seeks connection with his new classmates. The television series was top-class. For the contributors Ilja Richter , Lutz Moik and Susanne Uhlen , the series was also the springboard to a great television career. In the individual episodes, actors such as Hansi Jochmann , Karin Hardt , Jürgen Scheller , Enzi Fuchs , Evelyn Gressmann , Kurt Pratsch-Kaufmann , Hermann Wagner and Jürgen von Alten were seen in guest roles .

The television series was released on DVD in 2008 .
