Der Forellenhof is an eight-part, black-and-white television series by Südwestfunk from 1965, which is set in a country hotel on the edge of the western Black Forest. Directed by Wolfgang Schleif .

The film was shot in the Gaisbach district of Baden-Baden both on the premises and in the Hotel Fischkultur , which existed there at the time and was renamed the Waldhotel Forellenhof after the success of the television series .

The screenplay was written by Heinz Oskar Wuttig , who was also responsible for the series All my animals (1962–1963), Salto Mortale (1968) and films such as On the day when the rain came (1959) and The thousand eyes of Dr. Mabuse (1960) was responsible. Rolf-Hans Müller wrote the music for the series .

In addition to Hans Söhnker in the main role of hotel manager Otto Buchner , Jane Tilden played his wife Anna , who looked after the guests' wellbeing together with Ruth Buchner ( Tilly Lauenstein ). The two adult sons Jörg ( Gerhart Lippert ) as junior boss and Klaus ( Helmut Förnbacher ), who is still studying in Freiburg, and the baby Christa ( Helga Anders ), who is still going to school, also play a role in the family stories from the hotel the grandfather Franz Buchner ( Adolf Dell ), whose trout farm the hotel owes its name.

In February 2007, all episodes of the series were released on a 3-DVD box.

  • Director Wolfgang Schleif was also responsible for the first film in the Immenhof series ( Die Mädels vom Immenhof , 1955) and he shot the last two films in the series in 1973 with Die Zwillinge vom Immenhof and in 1974 with Spring on Immenhof .
