Rolf Ulrich (born June 23, 1921 in Berlin ; † December 5, 2005 there ) was a German cabaret artist and copywriter / writer. He founded the Berlin porcupines together with Klaus Becker , Alexander Welbat and Joachim Teege . All four were engaged at the Theater Tribüne am Knie in 1948/1949 .

Life

The first performances took place in the bathtub jazz cellar on Nürnberger Strasse from October 1949. Well-known players in the following period included Günter Pfitzmann , Inge Wolffberg , Jo Herbst , Wolfgang Gruner and Achim Strietzel .

Rolf Ulrich was the main writer of the cabaret. He was supported by Thierry , Jo Herbst and Wolfgang Gruner. However, texts by other authors were also repeatedly included in the program.

In 1950 the cabaret moved to the Burgkeller restaurant on Kurfürstendamm , and in 1951 to the artist restaurant Ewige Lampe in Rankestrasse 9, where it had its venue for almost 15 years. The cabaret has had its premises in the Europa Center at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church since 1965 .

Rolf Ulrich remained loyal to cabaret as a writer and actor until his death on December 5, 2005. He was buried in the Berlin Waldfriedhof Dahlem (field 010-436).
