from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Klaus Becker (born April 6, 1923 in Cottbus , † October 18, 1971 in Guelph , Canada ) was a German cabaret artist and actor.

Life

After graduating from high school, Becker studied veterinary medicine for three semesters. From 1945 to 1946 he attended the drama school for stage and film in Berlin-Dahlem. In 1947 he made his debut at Cabaret Uhlenspiegel. From 1948 to 1950 he played at the Renaissance Theater , in the stands , in the comedy on Kurfürstendamm and at the Deutsches Theater . From 1951 to 1952 he worked as a copywriter for the RIAS and from 1952 to 1953 for the NWDR .

Becker founded the Berlin porcupines together with Rolf Ulrich , Alexander Welbat and Joachim Teege . All four were engaged at the Theater Tribüne am Knie in 1948/1949. In the early 1950s Becker parodied - strictly anti-fascist-anti-communist - the daily news together with Wolfgang Neuss and Jo Herbst . In 1956 he was still the musical director of the porcupines, and since 1950 he has also worked for the cabarets Haferstengel, Nürnberg-Trichter and Rauchfang.
