Sylvia Lydi

Sylvia Lydi (born July 16, 1933 in Basel ) is a Swiss actress .

Life

Her mother, Sylvia Lydis, came to Switzerland when she was 20 years old and got married there. Lydi herself worked for a while in her trained profession as a qualified beautician before she trained as an actress. She has appeared on stages in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, among other things she was seen in the Winterthur cellar theater in the comedy We Don't Talk About the Pope or in the Bernhard Theater in Huusfründe in Zurich , together with her colleagues Trudi Roth and Elisabeth Schnell .

Since the mid-1950s, Sylvia Lydi has been in front of the camera regularly for ten years, then only sporadically until the end of the 1970s. She achieved great popularity in 1966 in the role of Suzy Fast in the three-part play The Gentlemen ask for cash . Even before that, she starred in films such as The Unexcused Hour , The Page from the Palace Hotel or the Heimatfilm Hubertus Hunt .

Sylvia Lydi was temporarily married to her fellow actor Hans Jaray . In 1982 she was a co-founder of the Zumikon village theater in the canton of Zurich, where she also directed in the first few years.
