The architects Max Stein and partner Ulli Mattuschke work together in an office in Max's apartment. While they are feverishly working on a project, Ulli's sister Lisa suddenly shows up with her baby Maya and moves in with them. Max is not at all enthusiastic about it, but over time the whole hustle and bustle is quite fine with him. Since Lisa takes a job to earn money for her own apartment, Max takes care of Maya more and more and gets to know many women. In addition, his father Franz moves in with him for a few days, allegedly because he was kicked out by his girlfriend, but in reality because he wants to talk to his son because he will soon be a father again.
