Three Men and a Baby is a 1985 French film directed by Coline Serreau , who also wrote the screenplay.

Three bachelors who share a flat in a large apartment in Paris find a baby on their doorstep one morning. As can be seen from an enclosed slip of paper, it is about Marie, the daughter of the flat share resident Jacques, of whose existence he did not yet know anything. Since the baby's mother, as she says on the slip, cannot look after her child for a while because of work stress, the three men involuntarily find themselves in the position of having to replace the mother of a baby.

In 2003, the sequel came to the cinemas 18 years later (18 ans après), which was also realized by Coline Serreau. The main roles were played again by Roland Giraud , Michel Boujenah and André Dussollier .
Awards
At the 1986 Academy Awards , Three Men and a Baby was nominated in the Foreign Language Film category. In the same year, the film was honored with three Césars in the categories of best film, best supporting actor ( Michel Boujenah ) and best screenplay.
Remake
In 1987, Leonard Nimoy shot a remake with Tom Selleck , Ted Danson and Steve Guttenberg in the lead roles, which was released in Germany under the title Noch three men, another baby . The film was so successful at the box office that a sequel followed in 1990: Three Men and a Little Lady .
