Infratest dimap Gesellschaft für Trend- und Wahlforschung mbH is a provider of election and political research in Germany .

Infratest dimap is best known for the ARD Germany trend published in the ARD and daily newspapers and the forecasts and projections on election evenings.

The Berlin- based institute was formed in 1996 from Infratest Burke Berlin, founded in 1990 by TNS Infratest with the participation of the Bonn Institute for Market and Political Research dimap , after the ARD commissioned Infratest and dimap for in-house election reporting.

TNS Infratest was taken over by the WPP Group in 2008 and outsourced to WPP's own market research company, the Kantar Group . Kantar was again sold to financial investor Bain Capital in 2019 . Bain holds 51 percent of the shares in Infratest dimap, dimap 49 percent. Infratest dimap has around 25 permanent employees. Freelance interviewers are used for telephone surveys; on election days, up to 1200 interviewers are used.
