Hendrikje Fitz (born September 15, 1961 in Frankfurt am Main , † April 7, 2016 in Berlin ) was a German actress .

Life

Hendrikje Fitz was the daughter of the actor Peter Fitz and the actress Ute Fitz and the sister of the actor Florian Fitz . At the age of 20 she began her career at the Freie Volksbühne Berlin . She completed a free acting and singing training. This was followed by engagements at the Schauspiel Bonn (1989/90), the Central Saxon Theater in Freiberg (1990–1994), the Theater Vorpommern in Greifswald (1994–1996) and the Schauspiel Leipzig (1996). Later she was seen in the touring theater Neue Schaubühne (1998), at the Theater an der Kö in Düsseldorf (2004, 2006), at the Theater am Dom in Cologne (2007) and in the Winterhuder Fährhaus in Hamburg (2012), mostly directed by René Heinersdorff .

Hendrikje Fitz became known to a broad audience on television with the role of Pia Heilmann in the successful MDR- produced doctor series In allerfreund , in which she had been seen alongside her film husband Thomas Rühmann since 1998 . In 2005 she took part in the television series Stars in der Manege . On December 27, 2015, as part of the TV cooking show The Perfect Dinner, an in-all friendship special with Andrea Kathrin Loewig (Kathrin Globisch), Hendrikje Fitz (Pia Heilmann), Karsten Kühn (Jakob Heilmann) and Michael Trischan (Hans -Peter Brenner).

Hendrikje Fitz was unmarried and lived in Berlin-Charlottenburg . She was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2014 and underwent surgery and chemotherapy. In autumn 2015 she suffered a relapse . She then appeared as an actress in In all friendship shorter; the scripts were adapted to their state of health at short notice. On April 7, 2016, she died in Berlin at the age of 54 of the consequences of her suffering. Scenes with Fitz, for which she was in front of the camera for the last time in January 2016, were broadcast on April 26, 2016 in In allerfreund (episode 725). Fitz had her last appearance on October 11, 2016 in episode 744; these scenes were shot in October 2015. In episode 745, Fitz's character Pia Heilmann died the serial death in a landslide. Fitz was buried next to her father Peter Fitz in the family grave of the Zehlendorf forest cemetery.

social commitment

Since 2014, Hendrikje Fitz has been the ambassador for the German Doctors aid organization , which sends volunteer doctors to medical emergency areas around the world. After a project visit in Sierra Leone , she sponsored the organization's hospital there. She was committed to the project right up to the end and shortly before her death gave a much-noticed video interview on the subject of “Dying in Germany - Dying in Africa”.
