Maren Gilzer (born February 4, 1960 in East Berlin ; real life Marion Gilzer) is a German actress and model .

biography

Maren Gilzer moved with her mother to Berlin-Wedding in 1961. She first trained as a technical draftsman . This was followed by a job as a model for several European fashion houses. Her TV career began in 1988 with the game show Wheel of Fortune on Sat.1 , in which she became known as the letter fairy. Gilzer was seen daily from 1988 to 1998 alongside Peter Bond and Frederic Meisner . Kabel eins wanted to extend her engagement with the wheel of fortune in 1998, but she wanted to devote herself to acting , for which she had been taking acting lessons since 1994 . From the first episode in 1998 to 2014 she played the role of the nurse Yvonne Habermann in the weekly television series In allerfreund . She also moderated sales programs for the TV station RTL Shop until the end of 2008 . Since February 2009 she has been selling her own clothing line at the teleshopping channel QVC . In the summer of 2014 she took on a leading role in the play Swan Lake in support stockings in the Comedy Dresden . On February 1, 2015, she was the winner of the RTL show Ich bin ein Star - Get me out of here! / Season 9 .

In January 2010, Gilzer announced that she was born in 1960 rather than 1964 and had deliberately made herself four years younger. She cited the reason that she was told at the beginning of her modeling career that she was actually already too old for this industry, so that she had become younger.

On June 26, 2010 she married the media manager Egon F. Freiheit , with whom she had been living for 17 years at that time. The couple separated in July 2013 and divorced the following year.

On May 24th, 2015 she started on YouTube Maren Gilzer TV . There she shows her life, gives tips for the household / garden and interviews celebrities. The last video on this channel so far was uploaded on March 7, 2016. In a video by Matthias Morr from July 22, 2017, in which she appeared by chance, she confessed that YouTube was too boring for her in the long run.

On September 27, 2019 Maren Gilzer had her wheel of fortune appearances number 2999 and 3000 as part of a small "wheel of fortune" revival within the program " Luke! The Great Night Show " on Sat1.
