Gláucio de Jesus Carvalho , better known as Gláucio (born November 11, 1975 in São Paulo ), is a former Brazilian football player.

Career

The 1.73 meter tall midfielder began his career in 1994 with the Portuguesa club . After one season he moved to the Dutch club Feyenoord Rotterdam for two seasons , where he played nine league games and scored three goals in the 1995/96 season. He was then loaned from Flamengo Rio de Janeiro for one season in 1996 , and in the second half of the 1996/97 season, local rivals Excelsior Rotterdam Gláucio borrowed for six months, in which he played 12 league games and scored six goals. In the 1997/98 season he came again for Feyenoord before he moved to America FC (RJ) in his native Brazil in the winter of 1998 . The following year Gláucio was loaned to Guarani FC . For the 2000/01 season he ventured back to Europe, namely to the Spanish club Rayo Vallecano . In his debut season, he played 23 league games and scored one goal. In the second season he completed 29 league games and scored one goal. In the summer of 2002 Gláucio then moved back to Brazil to SC Corinthians Alagoano , in 2003 to the Kuwaiti club al Qadsia Kuwait . But he didn't stay long there either and played again in his home country for SC Internacional during the 2004 season . In the same year he signed a three-year contract with Paulista FC . However, Gláucio spent 2005 and 2006 in Japan on loan from Avispa Fukuoka . Between 2007 and 2010 he played for several clubs in Brazil, but also again in Kuwait at the al Salmiya Club . His last two clubs, where he worked in 2009 and 2010 respectively, were EC Vitória (11 games / 1 goal) and Oeste FC (no appearances). After the 2010 season, Gláucio ended his active football career.
