Lisa files for divorce from her husband Martin, with whom she has two children, in order to lead a new life with the still married teacher Patrick. Since Patrick also brings a son into the family, there is a lot of friction between the children and adults. So the children from the two marriages are divided between the separated parents. Patrick's shy and reserved son William (called "Little Frog" by his mother) has to share a room with Eddie, who is the same age, from the marriage of Lisa and Martin.
